Firm Overview

A South Carolina State-Wide Practice

Barton Brimm’s practice encompasses the entire state of South Carolina, and extends nationwide as needed. There are three Bankruptcy Courts in South Carolina – in Columbia, Charleston, and Greenville – and the Firm regularly appears before the Court in all three locations.

The Firm was previously located in the heart of Columbia, South Carolina, in the historic house below, until May 2017, when it relocated to the Myrtle Beach area.   Now at the Coast, the Firm is able to help the underserved Pee Dee Region, while continuing to serve its clients in the Midlands and the Upstate.

The Pee Dee Region includes

  • Horry County
  • Georgetown County
  • Florence
  • Williamsburg
  • Marion
  • Dillon
  • Darlington
  • Chesterfield
  • Marlboro County

Christine Brimm is the only attorney located in the Pee Dee Region who is certified by the South Carolina Supreme Court as a Specialist in Bankruptcy and Debtor-Creditor Law. There are currently fewer than 40 attorneys in the State who are so certified.

We serve all of South Carolina, including

  • Myrtle Beach and the Grand Strand
  • Georgetown
  • Conway
  • Florence
  • Columbia
  • Aiken
  • Rock Hill
  • Spartanburg
  • Greenville
  • Charleston
  • Mount Pleasant
  • Anderson
  • Summerville
  • Orangeburg
  • Sumter

Most matters can be handled through phone calls, emails, and Zoom video meetings. If an in-person meeting is needed, those are typically held in Surfside Beach, SC, with advanced scheduling. Other arrangements can be made, as needed, on a case-by-case basis.
