Brianna joined the firm in 2020 after graduating from the University of South Carolina School of Law. In law school, she served as Senior Articles Editor of the South Carolina School of Law Journal of International Law and Business where she received the Top Editing award three semesters in a row. In addition, she participated in the South Carolina School of Law’s Moot Court team, was Vice President of the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund, and completed the Konduros Leadership Development Program.
Brianna clerked for the National Indian Country Training Coordinator at the National Advocacy Center in Columbia, South Carolina. She also performed research for the University of South Carolina’s Rule of Law Collaborative and was a research assistant for her professor.
Brianna was first exposed to bankruptcy through her work at the National Advocacy Center. She had the opportunity to perform research for the National Bankruptcy Training Institute and observe trainings for Assistant United States Attorneys regarding Chapter 11 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy techniques. After her positive experience at the National Advocacy Center, she obtained an externship under Duncan R. Duncan of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of South Carolina where she gained valuable experience to add to her bankruptcy law studies.
As an associate at Barton Brimm, Brianna has assisted with the representation of chapter 7 and chapter 11 debtors, and has worked on various bankruptcy litigation matters including preference issues and fraudulent transfer claims.
